Method 1: restart your Windows PC.

Sometimes, all you need to do is restart your PC to fix this error. Restarting your PC will perform a soft reset and the Windows Search not working error will be resolved automatically.

If not, proceed with the next method listed below.

Method 2: Reset Windows Search to default.

This method is useful for PCs running Windows 10 version 1903 or later.

On your PC, go to Settings >> Update & Security >> Troubleshoot >> View History. So, check if your Windows search is correct. If not, proceed with the method listed below.

Method 3: check for updates / rollback updates.

Windows frequently distributes updates for its operating system. Users need to update their operating system regularly for a smooth and safe user experience. However, if your Windows 10 operating system is out of date, you may encounter errors including the Windows Search Not Working error.

To fix it, you need to update the Windows 10 operating system to the latest version. On your PC, go to Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> Check for Updates. If you notice an update pending, install it and restart your PC.

Also, if you think the error occurred while updating Windows 10, you can go back to the previous update.

Step 4 – On the General tab, change the startup type to Automatic, then click OK to apply the changes.
